Who made it
Rift Guardians is a free independent game by Vitor Moura (Brazil): creation, direction, game design, art references and testing.
© 2026 Vitor Moura. The game, its name, logo, art, sounds and texts belong to the author.
How the game was made — and where AI came in
We prefer to say it plainly:
- Commanders. The ten commanders were modelled in 3D with the help of artificial intelligence (the Meshy service), from the author's character sheets and references. The models were then animated, adjusted and turned into pixel-art sprites by the project's own tools.
- Guardians. Four guardians (Rune Scribe, Sporeling, Frost Lynx and Dew Dragonfly) went through the same AI-assisted process. The rest are drawn by code.
- Scenery, enemies, bosses, visual effects, interface and logo are drawn by code written for the game, with no ready-made images from third parties.
- Sounds and music are synthesized by code inside the game itself. There are no recordings or third-party music.
- Code. The code of the game, the server and this site was written with the help of AI (the Claude coding assistant, by Anthropic), under the author's direction and review.
- Texts and translation. The texts of the game and of this site, and the English translation, were written with the help of AI, under the author's direction.
We do not use players' data to train AI models.
